MISSION: Funky is a group of artists that are striving to bridge the gap between professional and community theater. We encourage all experience levels in an inclusive, safe yet adventurous environment. Theater for everyone!

Funky Little Theater Company is an intimate theatre on the Westside of Colorado Springs and is in the thick of SEASON SIX (!). Funky has a healthy history of producing world premieres, regional premieres, stage classics and many special events that showcase original work, women, and the LGBTQIA+ community.

In its relatively short time in Colorado Springs, Funky Little Theater Company has received numerous awards for its work. In 2014, they won Silver for BEST PLAY (Best of the Springs, The Gazette) and two acting awards for the production In a Dark Dark House by Neil LaBute. In 2019 we were awarded Bronze for Best Play (Best of the Springs, The Gazette) for our production of Kimberly Akimbo by David Lindsay-Abaire. In 2020, we were awarded Bronze for Best Play (Best of the Springs, The Gazette) for our production of August: Osage County by Tracy Letts. In 2021, our production of Lend Me a Tenor by Ken Ludwig was given Silver for Best Play (Best of the Springs, The Gazette).

In addition to many other acting awards, they also received Bronze for BEST THEATRE COMPANY (Best of the Springs, The Gazette) in 2016, 2019 and 2020. In 2015, Bill Wheeler’s Theater Colorado blog recognized Funky for 'Outstanding Service to the Community' and 'Original Work Showcase' for their annual production of 24SEVEN (a 24-hour theatre project).
